Your Ingsoc indoctrination is almost complete.

"If the Party chose, all its people could live in luxury, but they instead choose to lower the quality of living: it is important that the lower classes remain stupefied by poverty and the struggle for mere survival; if they were to become too comfortable, they might learn to think for themselves and rebel against the Party."

The Democratic Party became the party of the progressives and one of its early standard bearers was William Jennings Bryan.

Teddy Roosevelt was "the Progressive" president and he was a Republican.
The left calls themselves Progressives in an attempt to rebrand the name liberal, which they named themselves years ago, because it has developed such a negative connotation based on policies they've implemented.
The only person today that espousts policies that are Progressive in line with what Teddy Roosevelt did is Marco Rubio. His ideas for education reform, student loan debt, and tax reform are truly progressive ideas. Tall might not like him around here, but admit what he suggests is a way better progressivism than the left.

Luckily for you, the Democratic Party is willing to help.

It really is hard to tell sometimes if WiskeyPaPa is a long-game troll or if he is that delusional.

He was abandoned by the Republican Party. Certainly by the time of Harding and Hoover, the GOP was pretty much then what it is now - the "Hooray for me and frick you" party.

That's because he is espousting a-historical facts and showing cartoons manipulated and redrawn by a leftist organization. The origional Thomas Nast cartoons do not have a lot of those "supressive" symbols or things like Bernie's hard in them. And the resolution was not nearly what he is presenting. This is another sad attempt for the left to re-write history. Wiskey Papa couldnt even tell you Thomas Nast was though, but I bet he'll go Google him now and pretend he knows!

He became president in 1861 AS A REPUBLICAN. In 1864, he was NUP because the Repubs used it as a temp name. So, who needs to research?

Thomas Nast also created the popular image of Santa Claus. Of course I know who he was.

You just stated what I stated...I'm fully aware he won as a republican in 1861, I never stated otherwise...so all you did was point out what I already pointed out that it was the temporary name he ran on...

So much bullshite in a single post. It all starts with "the parties flipped"... how fricking convenient.

The Democrat party has been a racist party from it's inception. It was Democrats that formed the KKK. A Democrat that stood in that Alabama doorway blocking black students. Democrats who opposed the 13th Amendment. Democrats who today vote against school vouchers for inner-city kids and ignore 61% of all abortions being minority babies.

YOU SONS OF BITCHES ARE EVIL. RACIST. HATEFUL. DECEITFUL. IGNORANT. ALWAYS HAVE BEEN, ALWAYS WILL BE. WHICH IS WHY NORTH KOREA IS A SIDESHOW... AMERICA WILL NEVER BE FREE UNTIL WE RID OURSELVES OF THE SCUM DEMOCRAT PARTY.

I know its been corrected in this thread about the name of Lincoln's party but are we talking about the Republican party that switched after the civil war?

Or how about the Republican party that switched after womens sufferage?

Or is it the one what switched after the civil rights era?

Idk i have trouble keeping up with how often the Republicans do something great in history but as we all know "The Republicans back then were like Democrats today. Its common knowledge"
