Vegas Killer Stephen Paddock Bought 33 Guns in One Year – $600 Rifle He Purchased on Way to Vegas Is Missing

Officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms told CBS News on Wednesday that Las Vegas killer Stephen Paddock purchased 33 guns in the last year since October 2016.

That averages out to around three guns per month.

The New York Daily News reported:

Stephen Paddock bought nearly three dozen guns in the year before he unleashed carnage on a crowd in Las Vegas, killing 58 and wounding more than 500.

The high-stakes gambler purchased the 33 firearms — most of them rifles — since October 2016, officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms told CBS News on Wednesday.

Jill Snyder, special agent in charge for the agency, said the ATF wouldn’t be tipped off by the high volume of sales unless two or more handguns were sold at one time.

More here.

Now this…
The $600 rifle Paddock purchased on the way to Las Vegas is missing.
The Daily Mail reported:

Mass killer Stephen Paddock bought a high-powered hunting rifle just hours before he arrived in Las Vegas on his mission of death, DailyMail.com can reveal.

But bizarrely the rifle wasn’t one of the 23 weapon haul found by police in his sniper’s nest hotel suite.

Paddock paid $600 for a Ruger American .308 bolt-action rifle with an 18-inch barrel and four round capacity from Guns & Guitars in his hometown of Mesquite.

He then calmly drove 80 miles to check in at the Mandalay Bay hotel on the Vegas Strip from where he rained bullets down on the Route 91 Harvest music festival killing 59 people and injuring a further 537.

A gunsmith at the store revealed Paddock was ‘calm and normal’ when he bought the weapon at around 3pm on September 28.

If he paid 600, he got ripped off severely. A possible motive?

Unless they sighted it in for him at the store it would have done him no good.

What was happening in the Fall of 2016 that had him so agitated that he suddenly started purchasing an arsenal?

Just like the expensive room service, if you're planning on committing a massacre, then you're either going to die, get arrested, flee, or hide. So besides getaway cash, all other wealth, credit, etc., is not going to be useless so why would someone care about overspending?

So, you think some event triggered him? I'm at a loss for what that could have been.

The LV Chief's eyes lit up when asked this question yesterday. They are focusing on this time frame. Something happened. Presidential election?

Does everybody keep forgetting the Cubs won the world series, on top of Cleveland winning a Championship a few months before? Add Clemson not Clemsoning in college football in January, and it would be easy for one to wonder whether we were actually having apocalyptic signs.

I guess we should at least he thankful that the Falcons lost in the Super Bowl, because we can only imagine what that 4th sign would have done.

This isn't true. It might be what they have to tell the public to stay out of court. Try buying more than 6 firearms in a year.

Edit: ATF might actually be truthful here, because my understanding is they don't maintain NICS. But FBI would have been aware.

I like how we find out that he began rapidly stockpiling guns in October, so naturally the investigation is focusing on that time frame, and the speculation keeps going to the election, which occured AFTER the stockpiling began.

I mean maybe it's related to the election, but it would seem that it's most like something that happened in October or before.

Also, isn't it possible that something happened to him PERSONALLY, unrelated to anything we are even aware of. I mean when people usually have drastic and troubling changes, and do drastic and troubling things as a result, it's usually related to something personal.

I guess maybe he wasn't buying the polls either.
