Caitlyn Jenner has accepted an invitation to attend the Jan. 20 festivities, Us Weekly first reported Wednesday, citing a source. The news was widely reported elsewhere, and LGBTQ Nation said a source told them that Jenner was looking for someone to accompany her to the event.

My guess is his son-in-law, Kanye West

Depending on how close the seats are to TRUMP, I'd consider escorting her.

Bruce Jenner is now A-list?

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

A-list means facetious, correct?

I'm endlessly amused that THE poster child for trannies is a republican. I don't know whose jimmies it rustles more: us or theirs.

Good. Stop letting the left claim high ground in culture wars. Make it all irrelevant.

To paraphrase Morgan Freedman: Stop "-ism's" by stopping talking about them.

The Left turned on her a long time ago. She's been an outspoken Republican for a while.

I agree with your sentiment if not your language.

The the glamorous celebrities need to be seen to remain relevant. They get that by attending such functions or by sitting out in dramatic protest. News media get clicks and sell ads if the can report on the glamorous people. Politicians can garner fake adulation by associating with the glamorous.

All the while, the average citizens are bedazzled by the spectacle, all the while missing the substance and likely getting snookered. It's probably the biggest chapter in Obama's playbook, but he's not alone. They all do it to some extent.

I really could not care less whether A-listers attend the inauguration, or like or dislike the President, except for the fact that I know it matters to a lot of low information citizens.

It would actually be a very good thing if A-listers boycotted the inauguration and other such events. It would start a process in the minds of people to separate the glamorous people from the important decisions of politics.

I like the idea of showing regular Americans (non-famous people) watching and commenting on the affairs of the government that the helped to empower.

Trump's inauguration should be a modern version of Andrew Jackson's.

quote:

Jackson was America's first "Frontier President" – the first president who did not come from the nation’s east-coast elite. His victory was seen as a triumph for the common man and for democracy. The celebration of his inauguration was an opportunity for America’s ordinary citizen to rejoice.

I'd offer an up and coming band to play at the event. Give them an opportunity to showcase their talent.
