As a Caucasian, it's impossible for me to put myself in the shoes of the African American Community. I can't imagine what it must have been like to be treated like a second-class citizen during the 60s. However, it continues to boggle my mind that perceived racism an economic inequality seem continue to be their biggest concern.

To clarify, I was specifically speaking about Martin Luther King and the other African Americans who fought for their civil rights in the sixties. I was not referring to today's African-American community as being treated second class.

Neither can the modern day minorities.

Probably a reason MLK celebrations are held on a Monday afternoon and not on a Saturday night.

Good thing John Lewis was also in Miami on MLK Day to exhort his 'troops' and not in his own district where there are absolutely no problems or issues that need to be addressed. Otherwise, there could have been real problems...

Wrong . Minorities today get treated like a second class citizen if they act like a second class citizen. Same goes for the white man, act like a dumbass get treated like a dumbass. I know plenty of minorities that get treated just as fair as anyone because they are good hard working citizens.

You sounds like a very Wordly kind of guy. What do you order on on the Chillis menu for your anniversary dinner?
