First of all these newly uninsured would be uninsured because they choose to be uninsured. The mandate is gone. Second, no one can be denied insurance if they want insurance.
But according to the WSJ:
I'm calling BS.
According to Gallup we currently have approximately a 11% uninsured rate:
If we have 320 million people in the U.S. that's 35.2 million uninsured. Then if we add 24 + 35.2 that equals, 59.2 million uninsured.
That's a new uninsured rate of 18.5%. That's worse than the uninsured rate prior to Obama.

Don't sweat it man. The bill in its current form will never pass the Senate ,it would be political suicide.

its useful to inform the public of some of its characteristics though.
the bill lets companies deduct from US treasury, the taxes that would have been paid on stock options given to CEOs. similarly, under the proposed bill companies can now deduct double the salary of CEOs as currently is allowed to be deducted. those limits were to stop health care companies CEOs from siphoning off monies which were to be used to pay claims and hold down premium costs.
Its unlikely to even pass the House. if it does, then everyone who votes for it will be targeted come 2018. Why suffer that if you know that the Collins and Kasichs will not vote for it?

Obamacare is a failed program. It would have been worse if the Obama administration had not stolen profits from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to prop it up.

Who cares? They can go to the free clinic as needed.

I wonder how much of the decrease in uninsured is from people aging in to Medicare?

Its not that difficult to see why this is going to happen in some capacity:
- you are reducing subsidies for most people
- reducing the penalty to get younger, healthier people to sign up
- allowing insurers to raise the rates on older people
- cutting Medicaid funding.
- no meaningful cost controls or cost reductions int he bill
People are going to go uninsured. Some by choice, like younger people that will choose to gamble on not having insurance, which will raise the risk in the individual pools, older people may find coverage no longer affordable with much higher premiums and not enough subsidies to offset it. People on Medicaid that get cut out will not be able to afford private insurance.
Is the CBO right? In terms of coverage they were the most accurate forecaster for the ACA, but still not perfect:

And so far the most positive assessment for Republicans on this bill puts the loss rate at 6-10 million and that comes from Standards and Poors:

And if you count the number of people today who technically have insurance but it's too expensive to use..... that number changes. Or they may actually get insurance they can use.
