It's not a matter of if, It's when. This is the same thing that killed Beau Biden and Ted Kennedy and very few people survive it. He will get unpopular really fast if he turns into a pile of shite and still refuses to leave office.

If McCain leaves office soon enough, Arizona will have two elections for Senator in the same year and that could get really messy.

The White House is going to be putting their money and horse power behind Kelli Ward in Arizona

Maybe, word is the GOP in Arizona and Trump are trying to handpick a replacement for McCain and someone to run against Flake. Not everyone is on board with Ward.

Rumor
Robert Graham - Trump backs for Flake Seat
Jeff DeWit - Replace McCain

Ward could get the appointment to replace McCain if Trump leans on Ducey enough and can bring the sell home.

If I remember correctly, Kelli Ward was at the White House very recently and it's going to get interesting pretty quick.

McCain needs to retire as soon as possible to get things moving so the GOP can make sure they retain both seats.

Well the Dems would need an implausible wave to get past Heller and Flake. Who else can they take? Corker? Cruz? And run the table on defense? Not happening.

I think historic patterns + Trump being unpopular limits the upside too, though.

I think people were taken back by Ward when she said McCain needed to get out the way days after his brain tumor was announced

I think the Democrats biggest problem is there just isn't a Rahm out there that can get the right candidates in House and Senate.

Corker and Cruz are not going down. Now only way Corker could lose is if he were primaried but Trump would come in to save him. They are very close.

I think Rs pick up 3 out of 4 between Manchin, Donnelly, Heitkamp, and McCaskill (one will muddle through on luck). I think they lose Heller but not Flake. They might lose McCain's seat if he croaks, though.

Manchin isn't being voted out. He's practically a Trumpkin in a Trumpkin state.

A state deserves full time representation that is giving the people's business their full and undivided attention and fighting personal health battles undermines that value.

Sometimes you can't mince words.

Somewhat rare pro-gun Democrat, but I'd still like to see him gone.

Oh, and frick Bill Nelson.

DeWit was the first prominent national statewide politician to back Trump if I remember correctly and he was with him on election night. I can definitely see Trump rewarding him by pushing him to Ducey to replace McCain.

But I also would see that he would rather back Ward to primary flake as she's already experienced enough from last year against McCain and will benefit from midterm turnout which benefits the GOP.

Graham did well as a DJT surrogate though.

Somewhat rare pro-gun Democrat,

Being pro gun in a state like Montana in completely a political requirement and not an option if a democrat wants to win there.

Just like JBE here in Louisiana is pro gun as well. Doesn't stop him from being a classic tax and spend liberal democrat.

I don't know about JBE, but Tester isn't a Democrat who decided he was pro-gun for some votes. He's a lifelong gun enthusiast who grew up to be a Democrat.

I don't like a lot of his policies, but there's no need to misrepresent his positives.

JBE is the same way as well and that's the only genuine thing I can say about him. His family has been heavily involved in law enforcement for generations and his father and brother have been sheriffs.

But my point about being pro gun being a necessity in places like Louisiana and Montana still stand though.

It may be genuine belief but it didn't stop him from advertising the frick out of it to pull off the sell to bible thumpers and republicans that hated David Vitter and then going on to be a classic tax and spend liberal democrat in office.

And in fact, I can't remember anything he's done as Governor that advanced gun rights in this state.

Tester is as good of a politician as there is in the US Senate. There is a reason the top Republicans in the state won't run against him. Doesn't make Tester unbeatable because Montana is a 53-47 for Tester at best.

If a Republican beats Tester it's going to be under 1,500 votes is my prediction.
