Hey, it happened in Calif in the 90s. When a county passes a compassionate law that benefits a group the group moves there to take advantage.
In the 1980s Denver was feeling heavy 'homeless envy'. They didn't have any. So, they invited the homeless to come there.

The guy from the Post cited that Denver has always had great social service programs but didn't give any detail on finances. All of the questions posed to him along the lines of 'what will happen?' got a response of 'Beats me.'

it does. we treat our homeless pretty well. And that might be responsible for our above average homeless population.

And weed may be part of it, but I think that is bias in reporting and/or the salvation army guy quoted. A lot of people hate this legal weed thing. frick them. Freedom!

Like its been said before, the best case outcome is the Supremes refusing to hear this case and sticking with the status quo.

It ony takes 4 justices to agree to hear a case and put it on the docket. I fervently hope that Kennedy and Roberts can have enough sense to stay away from this case and join with the liberal wing of the court who are absolutely right on this issue. I also suspect that the Solictor General will also tell the court they should refuse this case as well when they consult him for his opinion and hear the views of the Obama administration and thus the federal gov't as a whole.

the real question is if thomas would push to hear it just so he could write his typical "frick the interpretation of the commerce clause" concurrence/dissent, or if he'd push to have this case shelved to further his principles (without the publicity)
