Actually the Dems getting their asses handed to them by the voting public is the ultimate check and balance. From one end of this country to the other, the voters have said NO to democrats and their destructive policies. The American public doesn't want every aspect of their life turned into a social experiment. There is literally no area of our lives that Dems don't think they have a right to just invite themselves in. For fricks sake, they even tried to work their way into the bathroom with the entire trannies in the restrooms crap.

There are multiple checks and balance.

Most important one is the people. We can if we so desire replace the entire house and 1/3 the senate every 2 years.

We can then replace the President in 2 more.

As to your first point we have had split government for years and Moved to an unbelievably large federal Government. I have hope the guy in their now cuts the hell out of it.

My customer is the Federal Government and I don't even care if it costs me my job.
