Considering all the press about Devery's questionable receiving skills and number of dropped passes, doesn't this make the "Bluegrass Miracle" even more spectacular. Just trying to get through the offseason

You ever wonder why they call it the "Miracle" play?

ETA: Did you pose this question on every single board?

funny thing is, he bobbled the ball before he ended up catching it.

Fail - he tipped it to himself....unbelievable catch and one of the all time great plays in LSU history.

There is a huge difference. Your example was a poor one. It was a very athletic play and required the use of his immense talent.

He drops some balls - but of all the plays to choose from, that one wasn't even close.

I like emoticons too:

whatever you say tough guy

no need to get your panties all in a bunch b/c i disagree. you saw him make an athletic talented play while i saw him get lucky. if you really think that was skill on a 75 yd hail mary, more power to you. it was a great play, no doubt. but a lucky one regardless.

let me know when you finish high school and quit calling people names like "****" on the internet. maybe you could have a big boy discussion then.

everybody else calls that the bluegrass miracle. i think it should be called "the luckout in lexington".

nobody that doesn't benefit from his paycheck wants him to succeed as a saint more than i do, but that play was pure luck on so many levels...

"He drops some balls"

It seems like he drops the short ones more than the long passes

what luck , the fact kentucky was covering deep enough on the pass or the fact ky didnt knock the ball down? good players usually beat lesser talented, coached , skilled players... and youre an lsu fan you say huh

i'll never understand this logic. just b/c people can remove their P & G glasses every now and again doesn't make them any less of a fan. it just makes them realistic and able to have an actual discussion about football.

of course we all love devery as he is a TIGER AND a SAINT. that doesn't change the fact that he's underachieved in his NFL career and that the "Blugrass Miracle" was just that. anyone who thinks a hail mary is skill is kidding themselves. it's about 90% luck and 10% skill. it's a sandlot play.

"Everyone go deep and I'll chunk it as far as I can in your general direction. Hopefully one of you comes up with it". That's the play in a nutshell. Heck, even Saban himself said the play was pure luck. I'm not in anyway bashing Devery. I'm just calling it like it is.

Bluegrass Miracle

Watch it again very carefully - especially the slow motion replay. It'll put all debate to a halt. It was tipped off Clayton directly into Devery's hands where he then ran between a couple guys and scored. It took luck for it to happen of course, but without his speed and talent and concentration, the luck factor would be moot.

Watching KU fans storm the field and climb the goal posts is priceless!

Buddy, I just turned 27 (in response to "tell me when you finish high school.") and can recognize a douche that spews out crap on a message board but can't back down when he's wrong.

A simple, "maybe that wasn't the best example" would have sufficed. But some of you just keep going and going and you look even more foolish.

Debate ended (but watch for SaintLSUnAtl to rebuttal in 5,4,3... has to get the last word in).

So then we're both wrong and you just contradicted your entire point. I thought Devery was the one that juggled it. Maybe he wasn't. Either way, the play was complete luck. If YOU can't admit that, then you are just as bad as the people you claim are foolish. Skill, speed, concentration, blah, blah, blah. He was in the right place at the right time, which is the case with most hail mary passes you will see.

I'll watch the clip when I get home from work.

The high school reference was in response to your juvenile retort of "internet f****t". Rather than simply debate the play like an adult, you resort to childish name calling. Again, I guess because you're such a tough guy.

so in an attempt to get the last word in, you critized someone else if they try to get the last word in?
