photoshop question-- max number of undo's?

is there a way to change your maximum number of undo's?
i thought it was in the edit--> preferences menu, but it's not. is there a way?

I'm just getting started in Photshop myself. I've never heard of a ceiling on the number of undo's. If you like to put a lot of changes in while editing you might want to use the layers funcion.

It is in the edit--> preferences--> performance-->history & cache-->history states
