Yankee Stadium

I understand if some people (especially Yankee haters) are tired of hearing about the the stadium all week...although ANY baseball fan should appreciate it no matter what their allegiance is...but I digress. What I don't understand is why every day I read some article that says...THIS IS NOT THE HOUSE THAT RUTH BUILT, IT WAS RENOVATED BLAH BLAH BLAH...it's as if these reporters are determined to rain on someone's parade. Yeah, I know it was renovated, but it's not as if it was demolished and rebuilt on the same site. Although significant portions were replaced the basic shell remained in place. Then they'll say the field was lowered, etc. Well, I'm pretty sure the field at Tiger Stadium is not the same one Cannon returned that punt on, but I think most people would consider it the same. I'm sure the bleachers were different, the press boxes, the scoreboards...we know there were no upper decks, but the shell was the same, so it is and was Tiger Stadium. I don't hear such things about Soldier Field or Lambeau Field and they both underwent signficant renovations.

It's as if these guys don't have anything to write about, so they're basically trying to say, this isn't REALLY THE YANKEE STADIUM.
