disagree. Arkansas fans are accommodating and usually as friendly as LSU fans are when tailgating.
The three times I've been to Arkansas to watch LSU play I thought the exact opposite. They were very rude and nasty to us.

Living here in Alabama and in the middle of AU country, I can honestly assure you that Auburn does not consider us a rival by any means. In fact they like the hell out of us. They love the hard fought games between the schools but they love going to BR where they say ya'll feed them well. When I wore my LSU shirt after we won the NC, almost every AU fan that I saw told me your school represented our conference well. If you want to see a true rival, get the Auburn fans to talk about Bama. That is pure hate. Now the Bama fans that I meet are claiming that they will be the pinnicle of greatness in two years. They constantly bring up the past. The AU fans told me that Bama has a shrine honoring The Bear. They told me that the shrine had kneelers in front of the big picture of The Bear. I find this hard to believe but the AU fans swear that it is true. The AU folks had me in stitches when they told me about The Bears funeral and how the Bama fans were standing on sides of the roads and on overpasses waving bye bye to The Bear's casket. The AU people here are really funny. One showed me a picture of the funeral traveling along its route and the Bama fans decked out in red waveing bye bye to the casket as it was passing. They're going to show me some more claasic pics this Thursday.

Surely you jest? In Utah? Better get Gameplan or ESPN 360. I don't even know of a local alumni group.

What was Florida ranked this year when we met? i guess we were ranked 2 then.
They were at 4. So a pretty good game.

I would say Florida is by far the game everyone looks forward to but I have a feeling Alabama could be that game in the near future
Really... Florida?
I have never thought of Florida as a rival, let alone the biggest rival. They are not even in our division.
I would say recently it has to be Auburn. Intense games / Stomping on the eye / the 7-3 loss no call game / the chop block fiasco /... The rivarly grows nastier each year.
Historical pick: Ole Miss no doubt.
Up and comer: Bama.
Suprisingly, the battle for the boot isn't really in the discussion.

DEFINITELY - the ole pissers!
Posted on 7/15/08 at 6:56 pm to SixPackSpeak
Isn't Arkansas suppossed to be our rival, battle for the boot, last game of the year?

Agreed. Arkansas fans are junk.

Yes, per the SEC. But it was more of a forced situation.

Florida for sur man. Most likely to be bowl berth at stake every time we meet
Posted on 7/15/08 at 7:45 pm to SixPackSpeak
Auburn in the West, Florida in the East

And to everyone saying "go to LSU, they hate Ole Miss people," I got news for you, everyone hates Ole Miss people except other Ole Miss people. And to those of you saying "look at Oxford after LSU leaves town," I got news for you also, that happens everywhere. Just ask any fan from any school and the worst fans in the SEC are unanimously LSU fans.
Douchebag...but it's pretty funny.

LSU's different. They're not Mississippi. They're obnoxious, they've got a badass football program, we compete with them academically more (as both are the non-land-grant schools)... There's much more of a cultural difference between OM and LSU than there is between OM and MSU. I have friends at MSU, my friends all have kin at MSU. It's much more a family rivalry. But with LSU, it's those goddamned coonass loudmouths who I want to kick in the teeth. I had a great conversation with an LSU med student the last time I was stuck in Detroit airport (about the rivalry), and he assured me that Ole Miss is a game they absolutely never want to lose. They always bring a good crowd to Oxford, and we always do our best to take over Baton Rouge. LSU weekend is always a party-until-you-have-alochol-poisoning kind of atmosphere.
Another great quote.

Ole Miss
Historical and used to be significant. We were good when they were good with the Vaught/McClendon coaching tenures. Has faded significantly since Archie Manning was drafted into the NFL and Johnny Vaught retired.

Tulane
40 years ago, maybe...

Auburn
Over the last 20 years, has grown to be our greatest rivalry, only tempered by the fact that we can't be their biggest rival, for obvious reasons.

Alabama
Used to be huge for us, not so much for them (little brother syndrome) particularly in the McClendon/Bryant years. However, that has reversed somewhat (with our resurgence, Bama's decline and Auburn's rise in the west). However, with Bama's most recent head coaching hire, has breathed life into this rivalry.

Arkansas
Artificial, made up by the conference and CBS. It has blossomed, somewhat, over the past few years.

Mississippi State
Kind of like LSU/Bama used to be, with MSU being in the place of the little brother. I feel a kinship with MSU and they are certainly now (under Croom), but have been since the split, my second favorite SEC-W team.

Well of course we don't. Who wants that type of embarrassment?
