What is the best place to get one? I only need the regular console not the elite package. Are they $299 pretty much everywhere? Should i just go to Wal-Mart? Thanks

They are $299 only while supplies last, and yes that price should be the same everywhere

You can get one at Target right now for the 299.99 price and get a free $25 gift card.

LINK

Also, you can get them on Amazon.com. Shipping is free and you don't have to pay tax that way.

The 20 gig model is being phased out at $299 and will be replaced by a 60 gig model at $349

if you only do sports gaming with maybe a FPS shooter thrown in there do you even need the 60 gig?

Sounds like they are trying to get a larger HD for a requirement for their new features. Im sure all the people with 20GB drives will be offered only limited service. They need to lower the prices of their add on drives then.

Need, probably not. But I think it'll help with load times and the insane disc spinning noises if you're able to install games and play them from the HD.

Is it best to wait for the 60GB model or just buy the cheaper 20GB model, especially since i pretty much only do sports and minimal action gaming.

Depends on...

1. Whether or not you want to take advantage of the hard drive install feature that is coming.

2. If you ever will buy/rent games, movies, and TV shows from XBox live.

Silver is free and I think you can buy games and TV shows, and rent movies for extra cost.

Gold is $49.99/yr and is required to play games online and will be required to use the Netflix service.

Look...I was on xbox live and an xbox fan for the last 5 years.

I just bought a ps3 sunday and am loving it, its overall a better machine regarding specs and when the developers catch up to its potential, watch out.

The RROD spooked the hell out of me, plus the attachment for wireless network for the 360, plus the annual fee for xbl.

Good for you. Hope you enjoy it. It might be the better machine for you.

The 360 is the better machine for me. The PS3 just doesn't have enough exclusive games that I want to play.
