to coming up with your OWN way..

yeah, everyone has their own recipe and how they do things. i think it's all good and thank everyone for being helpful. i will definitely be trying some of these out, and hopefully will some variations that i can try and then share with all of you. all of you have shown some very good hospitality towards me and thanks for that . I will also have to update you when we get them cooked and let you know how the rookie did.

Yeah MJ, please keep us informed on how well yours turned out. In April when I go home to La. for a visit, I'm going to take the rote home through 'Bham so I can go through your town and buy some crabs and crawfih. Tusc. is much closer to me than going down to Mobile. It takes three hours to get to Mobile from here. Friens of mine who have kids in La. do this at their boils. They punch several holes in a can and put the can in whike the crawfish is boiling. They let the can sit with the crawfish too. The can of corn comes out just like the corn on the cob. This method is great for kids who can't handle corn on the cob or for people who don't have any teeth.

Hey, just sent you an email. I forgot to put a subject on it, so it will say no subject (I had a call come in while I was typing the info and forgot) and it's from michael_nes@bellsouth.net.

Thanks a lot Michael. Don't you love how everybody rallies around to help each other out? That what I like about this board a lot. It's about helping people even when you never met them. The people here found out the name of that cake for me that I used to enjoy when I lived in New Orleans. Thanks again.

yeah, it's great. i'll tell you one thing though, it's totally different on this section than it is on the rant.
it's great though. i enjoy getting on here and talking with people. like i said in the email, if you need anything else just let me know. that's my work email and it's setup on outlook in my office and not at home, so i don't get to check it on the weekends. here is my regular account that i can check anytime. michael.allan.johnson@gmail.com

so, during the week, your better to send it to the bellsouth account, on the weekends, the gmail. i guess i could have saved a lot of typing to just say that in the first place. oh well.

Michael, I agree with you about the rant. You express an opinion, and you'te called every name in the book by those who don't agree with you. I got into it with a fellow LSU fan. Believe it or not, I find the person with the most common sense on the rant is Steven4alabama. He's an overall good guy.

very true. it's hard to be a bama fan on here also without getting stereotyped and ragged, but i know it's to be expected. take it with a grain of salt and keep movin.

Believe me, I take everything with a grain of salt. Being from Denham Springs, the BR people stereotyped us as red necks with one or two teeth in our mouth. Years ago some Baton Rouge people tod me that the people of Livingston Parih consider two teeth in their mouth a complete set. Now since I live in Alabama, I'm hearing the same type of crap about Alabama people not having any teeth. My reply is that I have my complete set of teeth. It's nothing to go to the dentist every six months to maintain care of them. Look how the people of Tennessee are portrayed. They're portrayed as Bubba and Lulu. If you want to see how Auburn is portrayed then go to AUtrailerpark.com. That site is a hoot and it'll have you laughing for days.

It makes it alot easier if you can get a pot with the basket included. Just easier but, not completely neccesary.

yeah, this one comes with a basket inside. only thing it doesn't come with is a thermometer and a dipping basket or whatever it is that you can use to dip and get stuff out with.

Sounds about right.. Im sure the burner is a jet burner which will be good for you. Some on here like to get fancy with their burners. 60qt should be plenty big enough. ONLY go bigger if you have a lot of people otherwise you end up with cold crawfish.. Oh BTW dont fill that basket all the way up and also remember that the crawfish will displace the water so dont fill the pot up all the way either or you will have a big mess.

yeah, i don't think i could afford to go any bigger than 60 right now. the next size up was over $100 i think.

Doesnt really matter.. yea if you see a dead one its good to throw out you dont want to eat them since they are nasty but you can tell if they died before they were boiled by looking at the tail.. if the tail is curled its good if its straight it died prior.
