Hear me out first. As an alum, former coach, and coach of a 3 year top 10 team, UM owes at least a courtesy call to Miles. Just like UA interviewed Croom. They'd lok stupid not at least talking to miles.

Now if all UM interviews is 2 current assistants plus Miles and that's it, that's pretty short sighted on their part. They have as much tradition as bama but none of the problems. I think they could be very very selective.

Ferentz was also interviewed. Also, English is at least a notch above a typical coordinator interview. He is as legtimate a HC candidate as any coordinator in the Big 10. The fact that he's African-American is a big bonus, publicity-wise. I'm not saying he will get serious consideration, just pointing out that they've been talking about him as a possible successor to Carr for a couple of years now.

Never confirmed that Ferentz was interviewed. AllI'm saying is Michigan can be highly selective and patient. It's not like Bertman (Pokey\Laval|the ex track coach)is running their show.
