Nope. Don't try and change a good thing Ryno.

It's got a great story.

quote:

ETA: for those of you who don't know why we call McHugh "Jabroni", here is the story.

McHugh was a waiver claim from somebody (maybe SD) and when we called him up last year to start his first game vs OAK, I started a DAT titled:

"DAT: Oakland @ Houston - Dan Straily 1-1 (0.00 ERA) vs. Some Jabroni from the waiver wire."

And then he turned out to be pretty damn good. But the nickname just stuck.

I think it was the Mets, and I remember that thread I might try to find it later when I get home if someone hasn't already

Nah it wasn't the mets.

We didn't play the Mets until the last series of the season.

Ahhhh ok.

He wasn't a part of the Lyles trade was he?

I don't think he was a PTBNL. Pretty sure he was a waiver claim

I did too, so I knew what you meant. Then I remembered he had a crazy story how he showed up to the Stros with his Mets and Rocky luggage.

Funny fact...

The 1 year anniversary of Jabroni's first Astros start is tomorrow.

Last year on 4/22/2014, 12 K's in 6.2 IP

Jabroni's Astros Debut Thread

Apparently I updated the title like an idiot.

It's funny to look back.

Look how our poster population has increased since then.

That was a 4 page DAT a year ago.

It sure looks like Rodgers is going number one overall. Seems like Luhnow would want a prep senior/college junior combo with 2 and 5. If I had to make a guess now, I'd say they go with Dillon Tate and then Preston Tucker's brother Kyle (for a discount that allows them to spend on later picks).

Anyone think Luhnow goes back to Aiken? I could see him going somewhere #5 - 12. Or, really falling far.

ETA: Ryno, you're full of shite. No one in Houston is calling him Doc. Except for maybe some disillusioned few.
