Has anyone experienced bedbugs imported from a hotel?

Anyone here ever experienced them? I was on travel for a week about 3 weeks ago for work and now in my home/bedroom/linens, I'm finding these small bugs - about two per day. I'm not experiencing any bites that itch though. When I compare the bug to pictures online, it doesn't quite look the same, but that maybe wishful thinking. I can't find an exact replica of the bug online.
How long does it take from when you bring them home to begin seeing the bugs? I have no other explanation as to how they'd get in my home so I'm not real happy with the Hampton Inn in Clearwater.

No, they aren't too small to see once mature. And no, it's not crabs. Completely different look.

You can see them.

They're almost impossible to get rid of, though.

Pretty sure you need a new mattress. Once they lay eggs, almost impossible to get out.

The pictures I have are not magnified enough to show characteristics of the bug.

I have bought the bedbug/allergy mattress bags for both mattress and boxspring. I read enclose your pieces in those and you can keep your mattress as nothing can get in or out. If they are in there, they will die (in 1.5 yrs). My mattress is less than one year old.

You really want to keep a mattress infested with bugs? Nasty.

Drag that fricking thing out in the yard and burn it.

I wouldn't mind doing that once I know they are eliminated from the home. No sense in bringing a new mattress in now.

In all seriousness, I've researched countless university and entomology websites and they advise do not get rid of your mattress at this time.

Go to your vet, they have stuff that will kill them. I'll get you a pic of the bottle of stuff they gave us.

They can nest and live away from the host. They can detect human body heat from across the room. They can go months without a meal. They can travel across the ceiling and drop down on you while sleeping. Sealing up the mattress will solve the problem for many, but not all, infestations. But they do not confine themselves to the mattress, just so you know.

And they're adapting. As an example, NYC has theaters with bedbug infestations. It's dark in there most of the time and there are hosts upon which to feed every day.

To all, bedbug registry .com is a good resource to check out prospective hotels for reported bedbug issues.

I would imagine the Scientology bedbugs from Clearwater to be particularly merciless.

Web site is down right now, but I've used it for years to check out hotels before I stay at them. Bedbugs are no respecter of class or price. Some of the best hotels in the country have problems.
