How late can they delay the start?

Looks like it drops to 30% at 2 eastern.

The game must start no later than 4pm. Once the game starts, it cannot be stopped and then restarted any later than 6pm.

ETA: These are SEC regulations. LSU does not have a travel curfew for this series.

We took a charter flight, so no travel restrictions on our end. It looks like there's a good chance of getting the game in if we can start on time. Is that 4:00 Eastern or Central?

Should have clarified. The 4pm and 6pm in the regulations are always in local time. So that's ET.

From the Inclement Weather policy in the media guide:

quote:

B. In the event of a rain-delay prior to the beginning of play on Sunday, the game must begin at least two hours and thirty
minutes prior to the visiting team’s scheduled departure time from the field, but no later than 4:00 p.m. local time to
avoid a rain out of the game. (See Departure Time of this section.)

Departure Time states that a team's travel restrictions always take priority over this rule. But that's not relevant for this game.

The one game I get tickets for this year and it might get rained out. My luck. I live 2 hours from Athens. I've had a slow, steady rain at my house all morning. Oh well, may have to settle for lunch and a beer at one of the local eateries.

My dad drove in from BR to meet me in Atlanta and we had tickets for all 3. Made the drive against my better judgment on Friday and got rained out an hour after we got there.

Glad we got both in yesterday even though we got rained on a bit.

Thinking we won't make the drive today. Great if we get the game in, but I'd rather not drive another hour and change each way just to get rained out.

Days like today make you realize just how much weather itself hurts the sport of college baseball so much more than football and basketball. You never hear of a football game being completely cancelled for normal rain showers or even thunderstorms...outside of a tropical storm or something else severe. And it's April, so this stuff is pretty common. Even when they do get a chance to actually play, people cancel their trips due to the possibility of crappy rain-outs.

It's a shame. The college sport should be so much more popular.

That's the game of baseball generally, not just college baseball.

If you can't grip a baseball the quality of play is more severely diminished. Football can still just hand off. A pitcher can't.

The team just got here. Not raining now, but the tarp is out. We're wearing BP purples today.

Can they actually take the field under a Tornado watch?

Because it looks to me like the rain might move off to the east around game time

Not sure about tornado rules. FWIW, Chinea is going through warmups with the rest of the team.

Watch ESPN is not showing the LSU game for today. It is supposed to be on SEC+.

Anyone have any ideas why its not listed?
