We are in BR. Have kinda the same set up.

Do NOT do brick floors. They suck so bad as far as cleaning and sealing, and they will make your galley kitchen look smaller.

I had Brian at Brian's cabinets make and install custom cypress cabinets. They are beautiful. 5k?

Yours look pretty good though-but you need that fridge moved. I see there is a tv where the fridge goes. move it back.

IMHO, your kitchen needs the fridge in it, granite, backsplash, and paint. Maybe even paint the cabinets. I like color though. Brown kitchens make me want to go to sleep.
I would also rip out that double sink and put in a single compartment huge one. I LOVE mine.
You could also move the micro in a cabinet on top of the oven and put a cool range hood where the micro is now.

And they suck to walk on or stand on for long periods of time.

Look up B & C Kitchen in Metairie on Veterans. They have quality wood cabinets that are pre-fab, not custom. You can see pictures on their website.
