welcome padres.

Sadly zambrano and his belt aren't still around.

shite we'd be better off just calling up Baez to 2B then having to start Herrera
Baez is on the bereavement list because his sister died. He is being allowed to take as much time as he needs because he was very close to her (she was special needs, I think).

Tommy La Stella will be back soon enough. Herrera and Alcantara might just have to do.

I thought he was pointing to where Kris Bryant's first hit was going to land.

Makes sense. Ballhawks will be on Waveland by the hundreds

ETA: That might actually be there the video board will be sitting once Bryant knocks it down

Cubs activated Chris Denorfia; Neil Ramirez placed on the 15 day DL.

And just to clarify, to add Kris Bryant the Cubs put Mike Olt on the 15 day DL.

Sounds like it might not be as as bad as John led on yesterday...what does that guy know...he doesn't even live in the midwest anymore.

I'm not optimistic. I hope it's minor, but a shoulder problem that requires DL time of any length is rarely just a minor problem. I expect the worst, hope for the best. Neil Ramirez was flat out nails.

I'm saying not as bad as it sounds as mooney is saying inflammation, which is about as minimal as anyone could have realistically hoped for.

Theo just said had Olt been healthy, they would have waited to call up Bryant.

I do believe this. The timing is just so coincidental.

In the back of my mind though, I am thinking they held Olt going to the DL for today.

Supposedly, Ramirez's shoulder shows no structural damage. Touche', piggidy...

Theo says good news on Neil Ramirez shoulder inflammation. And Justin Grimm is close to beginning his rehab assignment.

FWIW:

Theo: "All things considered, we got good news on Neil Ramirez"
