Ive been browsing some sites and they seem resonable. Everything from 34k acre hunting ranches priced at 40 dollars an acre to 100 acre self sufficient tropical homesteads for 100k.

The Mexican Constitution prohibits non-Mexican Citizens from owning title to property along waterway and borders which is called the Restricted Zone. Recognizing the importance of foreign investment, the Mexican legislature passed the foreign investment act which allows non-Mexican Citizens to own title to property through a Mexican Real Estate Bank trust. A Mexican Bank is Trustee(usually owned by a mutli-national bank) of the trust, the trust then holds the deed to the property for the owner's benefit. The trust is administered for the benefit of the owner (the beneficiary).

All of Mexico doesn't fall under that restriction

I know someone that had a hunting ranch down there but gave it up due to the hassle of having guns and ammunition down there. Said you could wind up in a mexican slammer for having too much ammo

being in a mexican slammer for having to much ammo on the way to a hunting ranch is probably one of my biggest fears

how much would that suck

Mexican slammer is a term I fear in the Mexican jail system.

This and having my head chopped off by the cartel.

Other than these two little worries 40 bucks an acre would be awesome

Friend of mine bought a huge ranch and lake down there about 8 years ago. He had to abandon it a couple years later when the drug cartels starting mailing people's heads back to their families. He said it just wasn't worth the risk. I agree!

Yall make it sound like Mexico isn't a safe place and living there is a bad idea.

Ive watched all the Outdoor channel celebrities make hunting trips down there and it looks awesome.

Maybe I could strike a deal with a drug lord. A few guided trophy mule deer or dove hunts in exchange for protection
