Need some last island help

Trying to find a decent place to access last island. Just wanting to get the kids out on the beach. Any of you that fish the island know of a place that has deep enough water to nose up to the back side of the island or if California Canal still has enough water to idle into? Planning on doing some exploring next trip out but wanted to pick the OB's brain first.

Last time I got out of the boat on Last Island we pulled up right by Whiskey Pass on the backside. It kind of makes a little cove so it's calm when you pull in there.

That was one of the promising places if found when looking at the aerial maps. I made the mistake of telling my 7 yr old that there is a beach there and that I used to go there all the time as a kid now every time he gets in the boat i get hounded to go to the beach.

We have gotten out right here and surf fished and caught trout on the back side, we have also caught fish on the gulf side as well

Not sure what the depth is right now, but you used to be able I pull into trinity bay and access the island from right there.

I was in there Saturday. If you stay on plane and in the middle, you can get all the way in the cut.
