Why is Mexican labor so expensive these days?

I just got a quote for some landscaping and they were just as expensive as the American labor. And on top of the high arse quote, the dude told me that I would have to come pick him and his guys up and supply the tools for the job.

The real, non OT, answer to this is that most of them have figured out what other legit businesses are charging and they are quoting that to see if you will pay.

Simply tell them NO and come back with a number half what he asked originally. It's called negotiation.
