I see it. It's just more of a hassle to use. Everything could be navigated with one hand before.

I agree with this. Would having another "menu" link at the top be too much or not look aesthetically pleasing?

I like that new Mobile always has a link to Menu on screen (unless zoomed into Topic column and just have to remember to zoom out when looking for it), but Menu bar is huge in landscape mode on iPhone 5.
With iPhone 5 or 5s persistant menu bars on most sites seem to always be too large in landscape mode, but it seems larger here except for when I am replying to a post and then it gets a little smaller or thinner (When not actually typing in message area and you can still see menu bar).

We are looking into the landscape issue with the logo row...hardly ever use landscape mode but tried it today and noticed that issue.
