If not for 15 years of prequels, sequels and reboots, would they be much higher? Or is that solely based on the movie?

i've never seen the originals. are they worth a watch or do they not stand the test of time?

yes IMO. Especially the first two. I wasn't crazy about MMBTD.
Fox, I'm not sold on the need for another one. I really like Tom Hardy and thought he was great as a bootlegger. But I'm tired of Hollywood rebooting and rehashing old ideas.

Mad Max is great.
The Road Warrior is one of the best films ever made.
I don't really like Thunderdome.

I expect it to be shite because
Thunderdome was awful.

That was on tv this weekend. Very strange acting by the "bad guys" in there. I think it actually makes the show more enjoyable.

yeah, it can definitely be a bad thing
everyone felt really good that George lucas was still helming the prequels. a lot of the directors from the 70s and 80s seem to be entirely different filmmakers now.
to his credit, he made them all...could've just been the bad one , but like I said, I've used that justification before

Yep, rewatched it this weekend. Extremely strange movie, especially the Acolytes. Mel definitely had the "it" factor at the time. Movie was extremely dark.

Looks like a Michael Bay movie set in the desert.

If it's anything like the Road Warrior, I'm in.
The other two... didn't really care for them.

Just please, don't give Max a dog.

I wanted to tell a linear story — a chase that starts as the movie begins and continues for 110 minutes,” Miller said.

Mad Max really does not hold up over time.
I watched it this weekend and was surprised at how cheesy it was. I still enjoyed it, but feel like if I had not seen it when young to establish an emotional connection, I would have switched channels.
Road warrior is much better.
MMBTD is pretty good.

That is what has me a bit worried, they've shown a ton in the trailers...how much crazier can it get?

I'm down for any Tom Hardy movie. Dude is a force by himself.
