Can anyone tell me more information about this dog park? Leash/breed restrictions? Spayed/Nuetered requirements? I heard you can gun train your pup here. Is this true? Any more info appreciated looking to bring jr. this month!

I've never seen anyone with a gun out there.

No leash restrictions once inside the fences that I recall. They have a smaller fenced area for smaller breeds as well.

There's a retriever training pond behind the fishing pond on the east side of the park. It's fenced in and has two islands in the middle. I doubt you can gun train there. It's good for bumper training though. If they haven't trimmed the brush on the islands though, I'd watch for snakes.

I've never been, but..

This doesn't sound true. That's a pretty busy park for someone to be busting off a gun, even if it is just blanks.

I know for a fact that people bring in caps to gun train. Not a gun but makes the same sound. This only over at the retriever pond

I've never seen somebody shoot a gun there. I would imagine it would freak out the shite ton of people playing/watching soccer there.

What are these "caps" you speak of? Can I shoot these caps out of a .22 rifle?

I play soccer and they always have people shooting blanks and training dogs out there behind the fishing pond

I'm out there all the time, have been going for three or four years, and have never once seen a person out there with a gun, retriever area or not.

It's a good park, like any public area you get your array of weirdos, but for the most part every one is out there to get along, and watch their pups play. No leash restrictions once your dog is in the fenced area. Only real requirement is that your dog isn't an a-hole.

I'm not sure if they fixed the problem - I know they've been trying to - but the main dog park used to get a huge mud pit in the middle after it rained. One of my dogs took advantage of it.
