"First of all, it will be a much more aggressive approach front-7-wise than we have seen under John Chavis. That was just not what "Chief" wanted, and he had success, but with Steele and Coach O you will see a lot more stunts and maneuvers to disrupt the passer. You have to adjust to the spread and pistol and get more pressure, especially with your front-7. Defensive line-wise you will see rotation a lot more. Coach O has told me numerous times about winning the battle late and he believes in an 8-man rotation to keep his defensive linemen fresh to finish off games."

"It's all about winning and winning big for LSU. Les isn't going anywhere unless things would really tank. But the QB position is so key to winning and getting back to the SEC Championship game that he has to pay attention to what he is bringing in and how he adjusts his attack to their skills. LSU fans will not be happy with an 8-win team. This team is loaded at halfback, wide receiver, defensive tackle and the secondary. The offensive line is going to be a good unit. The issue is at quarterback and adjusting to what you are recruiting. Les Miles controls that part of this team offensively. The buck stops with him. Lets be honest. Miles' clock management and how he's handled the QB position are a couple of things that have negatively affected this team, but the QB issue is the big one, and he has to fix it fast."

Those were just a couple thoughts of many included in the link below.

so he's asked about the defense and he still proceeds to bitch about the QBs and some clock management bullshite. He's a typical rantard. He's basically Peej if Peej had a sports column.

And this is why many folks here laugh at Detillier's bullshite.

Not sure this is accurate.

Not that I agree with him on everything but, the reason the QB was brought up in a Defense article was because of the question asked.
quote:

If LSU's SEC record continues to trend downward this year, especially if problems persist with Anthony Jennings at QB, do you see Coach Miles' or Coach Cam Cameron' seat getting hot?

but yes he is a typical rantard

I love the fact that we will be able to adapt to different offenses. Our defense was built for spread under Chavis. Quick guys that could get sideline to sideline and DEs playing contain. With Steele, we'll be able to adapt to power run offenses and be more aggressive against QBs. The rotation at DL should help immensely considering how we rarely took the starters out of the lineup the last two years.

So it started talking about the D, then ended up discussing the QB position.

I'm not happy with the Chavis antics this year either. However in 2011 he played 5 DTs and 6 DE's against everybody. Why, because the drop off was insignificant and everyone was always fresh. The last three years, LSU has not had the depth to do that on the DL. They had the numbers, but not the players. It remains to be seen if Steele and O have the quality depth needed to do this. If so I am all for this, but several players need to really improve before this is a reality.
