Still gives me chills when I hear this song. Absolutely beautiful raw talent. Died FAR too young...

I was a huge melon fan back in the day. I was crushed when shannon died. I lived in nj at the time, but my buddy was going to tulane. I still have the ticket stub for the show at tips from the night he died.

Incredible but wasted talent. Sad

Better to burn out than to fade away or something.

I see what you're saying and I don't completely disagree...but there's an argument to be made about fading away too.

Soup is one of the best albums of all time.

Unless you're from the Kanye (Kimye) generation who believe that Kanye is a Jayne-yus and all music that preceded Kanye is garbage.

No doubt. I mean, if I was a famous musician, I'd rather make mediocre music for years than die.
That said, so much of Shannon's musical inspiration came from his personal struggles. I recently saw an interview that BM posted on Facebook about Rogers becoming an attorney and it was just sad to hear him talk about losing Shannon.

And Soup didn't even make the cut on the album. I can't remember, were Soul One and Pull originally part of that session?

Best "Behind The Music" episode ever. Just a wasted talent. Such a shame.

We're getting old...and time will only accelerate with age.

As it says in their song 'Change'
We can't all stay here forever
So I'm gonna write my words on the face of today
And then they'll paint it

Danny Clinch, a photographer, has all the home movies Shannon Hoon shot while on tour and is making a movie from them.

Definitely going to donate. They showed a lot of that footage on their Behind The Music episode but can't wait to see more.
