Ok, how bad did I mess up my outside wooden stairs?

I have a set of wooden stairs in my back yard that lead up to a higher level of the yard. I usually water seal the steps every year along with the wooden chairs on the back patio. I usually use a brush, but this year I had the bright idea save time by using my sprayer which is recommended on the water seal can. Well, I couldn't get the nozzle to actually spray and it ended up just sending out a stream.
So, being the good redneck I said to hell with it and just "sprayed" it down. Well, it now looks someone took a good long piss on the stairs with some places having too much seal and other areas missed. This was on Saturday and it rained both Saturday night and Sunday.
Options? Do I just brush another coat on or do I have to wait until this coat wears away to start new?

Talk to jojothetireguy. He seems to know what he's doing.

Just brush another layer on. It will all even out after the sun and weather beats it to heck and back this summer.

That was my thought . . . I just need Tigerdeacon Jr. to get a few years older and let him do it.
