Going to try and start this thread each Sunday. Figured it would be best to have a weekly thread rather than a daily...

Going with a bunch of hunches to start off on Opening Day.

C: Buster Posey -- I don't need to look at stats to tell me he crushes at Chase Field
1B: Adam Lind -- I figure that Rocks-Brews game is going to be high soring
2B: Scooter Ginnett -- Kyle Kendrick is Colorado's No. 1 starter? Ouch.
3B: Luis Valbuena -- had to get somebody
SS: Tulowitzi -- High-scoring contest, plus he's healthy.
OF: J.D. Martinez -- so tough to pick outfield with all the top arms throwing.
OF: Marlon Byrd -- righty with pop facing a lefty (Liriano). Hopefully Cisco leaves a slider up..
OF: Avisail Garcia -- I think he catches up to 98 once: STRETCH, STRETCH...YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD
P: Drew Hutchison -- Tanaka lasted until late in the summer with only one loss, he takes his first one of 2015 on Opening Day.

Damn.

Hard to say without seeing the monetary amount attached to them and seeing your options as well. At first glance, it doesn't look like you spent a crap ton of money to have to start Valbuena at 3rd... especially being that you're starting Hutchinson.

I looked hard at Hutchison, but I wish he was pitching in a better ballpark.

What about Buccholz against Philly?

I also tried to create a lineup with an ace for fun (Kluber), and I am not sure which way I like better.

Cleveland hitters seem sexy to me with Keuchel being a below average guy for Opening Day and righties taking advantage of the Crawford Boxes. Brewers are good choices against Kendrick.

I think Opening Day may be the toughest day to do this because it is aces everywhere.

What does Chris Tillman or Archer cost compared to Hutchinson?

NYY will trot out a lefty dominant lineup, especially being at home. Could spell trouble.

On Fanduel, it is all about the pitchers from what I can tell. Kyle Kendrick is the cheapest Opening Day starter at $6600. Kershaw is $11700. Mike Trout is $5100. No typos here.

Also, it is points and the budget is $35000. Lineups all lock with the first game, so that is pretty fricking gay as well.

Hutchison is like the cheapest starter not named Buccholz or Kendrick. I believe Hutch is 7400. Kluber is 10400 (cheaper than 7-10 guys somehow).

Hutch = $7400
Tillman = $8300
Archer = $8600

VKC, I felt the OF was crazy over priced.

You dont win unless you hit on a pitcher

I would build from the pitcher on if hutchinson is the best you can do

Exactly. Ride or die with the arm. Let me post the scoring in a minute. I like the fact that Kluber gets Houston cause they will K a frickton.

Kluber would be a good call if you want to go top dollar.

Yordano Ventura would be a nice mid tier arm, pitching at home in a pitcher's park against a K heavy lineup. Tillman seems like good value as well.

This. Alvarez (home matchup against the Braves) is perfect except his K% is like 3%.

That's why I decided on Hutch

Marlins do play Braves tho

Tex can't hit LH
Ellsbury coming off injury
Jones will play

I'm not scared of Yanks lineup vs rightys, maybe it's just I have confidence in Hutch. Idk

Fanduel

P Henderson Alvarez $7,400 ATL@MIA
C Mike Zunino $2,800 LAA@SEA
1B Joey Votto $3,600 PIT@CIN
2B Howie Kendrick $3,200 SDP@LOS
3B Kyle Seager $3,700 LAA@SEA
SS Elvis Andrus $3,500 TEX@OAK
OF J.D. Martinez $3,800 MIN@DET
OFRyan Braun $4,100 COL@MIL
OFMarlon Byrd $2,900 PIT@CIN

Pompey and De Aza were both 2,900 that could be subbed for Byrd. Swap out Braun for HanRam and you could have Melky instead of Byrd.
