I've never played any of the Souls games until Bloodborne. I really, really like BB, I think it's the best game to come out in a long time. Once I got past the difficulty in the mechanics and learning how to play, the gameplay has been super rewarding and after beating a boss it literally jacks me up.

Dark Souls 2 is coming out next week on ps4, it looks fantastic. Would I enjoy it as much as Bloodborne? I heard there is more of a penalty when you die in DS. Is there co-op?

Last note, I heard DS2 was inferior to DS1, so can you guys help me out? It's 60$ for the Scholar of First Sins edition on ps4, yet on ps3 its only 40$, Im guessing they enchanced it.

And the last note:

LINK

quote:

Digital Foundry has a wonderful performance analysis of the game and, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions both run at a perfect 1080p resolution, the frame rate is much steadier on the PlayStation 4.

"Xbox One pays a persistent price for matching the PS4's visual standard. Both formats target 60fps and engage v-sync at all times, but Microsoft's platform suffers the greater drops between the two in each scene of our frame-rate analysis," the article states.

"The Forest of Fallen Giants area is a good example, where a barrage of enemies causes a read-out of between 40-50fps on Xbox One, while PS4 operates within the 50-60fps range. Even while uncontested beneath the giant, arching trees of Things Betwixt, a regular margin of 10fps exists between the two — PS4 operating at a near perfect 60fps, while Xbox stutters along at 50fps."

sort of

You have to use humanity to become "human" at which point you can use call signs on the ground to summon other players to come in and help you defeat a boss

You lose all your souls and restart from the last bonfire you rested at. It can suck pretty hard sometimes

And yes, DS1 is better but DS2 is still a really good game. Don't let the haters or DS purist snobs sway you away from the game

Was this necessary? You really spent energy posting that reply?

I have DS2 for the PS3... I will be picking it up for the PS4 as well. I won't touch it until I am done with Bloodborne though.

I think this will do well on PS4 because of all the new Bloodborne players.

This will drop in price quickly because it's a remaster, I'll just wait to pick it up for $30.

It will, but not as quickly as you think IMO.

It has 3 DLC packs, 60fps, running at 1080p, and enemy adjustments, new shortcuts, new weapons, new armor, a new NPC that follows you, multiplayer upped to 6 players.

I think it's a huge upgrade and probably gonna sit at 60$ a little longer.

This can be a blessing and a curse. If you can summon more people to help you out, I'd imagine more players can invade you as well

Yeah, that's another thing. As difficult as the game is, at any time as you are moving thru a nightmarish level, someone can invade you and kill you just for fun.

Gonna wait for a price drop. Only played through 2 once, which is crazy since I played through 1 at least 15 times and I will almost assuredly do the same for BB.

I'll give it another shot, especially with the DLCs, which JombieZombie says are excellent

Should be down to $40 in no time

It is the same thing. When you die you go back to camp. You have one chance to get your lost souls where you died.

They're by far the best part of the game; they add much value to an already more than solid experience. They made up for some of the lackluster world design in the core game.

If you love BB and haven't played DS2, this is definetly worth picking up.
