Options at No. 13 overall (Round 1) Pos. Ht. Wt. School
Dante Fowler Jr. OLB 6-3 261 Florida
A likely top-5 pick should who could be in reach for the Saints only through a trade if he slips to the Jets No. 6 or lower.
Danny Shelton DL 6-2 339 Washington
This projected top-10 pick should be off the board when the Saints select at No. 13.
Vic Beasley OLB 6-3 246 Clemson
The Saints could need to get ahead of the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8 overall with a trade to snag this quick and explosive pass rusher. Rob Ryan attended Beasley's Pro Day.
Randy Gregory DE 6-5 235 Nebraska
Multiple draft forecasters believe the Saints will not be scared off by the drug test Gregory failed while at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Shane Ray DE 6-3 245 Missouri
Ray stands in the second tier of pass rushers behind Fowler and alongside Beasley and Gregory, ESPN analyst said, via the Kansas City Star.
Alvin Dupree DE 6-4 269 Kentucky
Difference between good and great might be coordinator
Trae Waynes CB 6-0 186 Michigan State
Waynes could be the best available option for the Saints if the top pass-rushers are off the board by the time they pick.
Arik Armstead DL 6-7 292 Oregon
Has size, traits to become dominant run-stuffing end
Brandon Scherff OT 6-5 319 Iowa
Several forecasters have him as the top tackle in the draft and going at No. 9 to the New York Giants.
La'el Collins OT 6-4 305 LSU
Met with the Saints after the LSU Pro Day last week Friday.
DeVante Parker WR 6-3 209 Louisville
Height, 80-inch wingspan makes him a big target
Kevin White WR 6-3 215 West Virginia
He becomes a possibility if the desired defensive options are all off the board, and the Saints don't find a willing trade partner.

I would be happy with any of those not named Waynes or Armstead. Still don't really want Ray at 13, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Edge rusher
Why not Danielle Hunter?

I really wouldn't mind him at all a 44 if we failed to get an EDGE at 13 or 31. Him Orhcard, Harold and Kikaha are all guys to keep an eye on in that range.

Because he sucks at "rushing"

I'll ask? Where would you spend your draft pick on him?

If this guy is there at 44 we need to pick him

Because he's not that good. You want an edge rusher who got 4.5 sacks in 38 games. (23 starts)
It blows my mind. If you watched LSU, you would know that Hunter looks like Tarzan plays like Jane. Yet he is likely a high draft pick. On the other hand, Kwon Alexander is small, but is a great football player. He's likely to go undrafted or go in the 6th or 7th round.

Yeah I'd draft Kwon before Hunter all day. I really liked his game at LSU. Certainly worth a late round pick. I'll pass on Hunter as well. I just don't get how he's so unproductive. He should do the NFL for a handful of years and then go into body building because that seems to be something he cares about.

Hunter is the definition of a boom/bust guy. I wouldn't touch him. I might take a chance on Kwon Alexander if he falls late in the draft...but he is far from a sure thing as well. Both have plenty of potential though.

Keep an eye on the animal ILB from UCLA....Kendricks. Would love for him to fall to 13...then and edge guy then an OL in 2nd then CB@74 then WR @76

Kwon is going between 2-4. He skyrocketed up the board

Hunter is the definition of "athletic freak" and "physical specimen". What he's not is a productive pass rusher.
I second that he should go into bodybuilding. He and Laron could make a killing.

Kwon is a player I'd love to have.
Hunter never met expectations.

I know Ray has a great story and all, but he's going to be a bust. Good college players don't always mean they will be good NFL players and he's not particularly big or fast. And you need to be at least 1 if not both.
Anybody else other than him, Mariota or Jameis and I'll be happy with whoever we pick.

I like Kendricks too but he's more of a player to target at 31.
