But really, as with all music, it is not possible for every person to like every band or musician out there.

...and yes, the average die hard phan may be a real turnoff (I have 70+ Grateful Dead and 70+ Phish shows under my belt and Can barely tolerate 90% of the people I interact with at a show).

...and yes, the groupies believe that The Fish can do no wrong

...however, I tell almost all people the same thing when it comes to their music--when you really give it an earnest (pun intended) effort and go in with an open mind, for the ones who end up getting hooked, one day, it Just clicks, and they "get it".

That may not be the best way to describe it, but that makes sense to me. It is not just the actual music, but the long running spoofs and band/audience interactions and mind games that run for years. It adds another level of intrigue and enjoyment.

I know many people who gave the band a thumbs down for years and then one evening after listening to a particular live show, had that moment of enlightenment--it clicked--and they "got it".

Again, not for everyone...
