Pre Madonna.
The amount of idioms improperly used and bastardized is actually pretty staggering.

I had to put a bob wire fence around my pond because my neighbors were fricking with my trout lines.

Some have been said wrong for so long that people think either way is acceptable.
"on accident" no it's "by accident"
"case and point" no it's "case in point"
"beckon call" no it's "beck and call"
"hunger pains" no it's "hunger pangs"

Hunger pains is also acceptable. The meaning of pang is a sharp pain.

"Chalk" and "chock" are phonetically very similar. There is virtually no difference. Poor example

Lets nip this thread in the butt. I don't know about you guys, but I could care less about my mistatement of grammar and phrases. You can still be an intelligent person, irregardless of whether you mess up on accident from time to time. I should of known better then to reply to this thread, because my point will fall on dead ears. This is the OT - let the posts before me be my case and point. I'm done with this...just being here is sorta self depreciating. You people say what ever you want and get off scotch free. Without further adieu, good bye.

That one would not bother me as much since the term "beck" originates from the term "beckon".

No idioms here, simply examples of the rampant misuse of the English language:
-speak to
-speaks to
-reach out
-drill down
-wheelhouse
-crushed it
-killed it
-knocked it out of the park
-hate on
-hated on
-hater
-backstory

Well in people's defense, the English language is hot garbage from a logical standpoint. Same goes for the way a lot of words are spelled in the English language.

You are correct, kind sir.

WALLA. And the thing is I have seen this word used in commercials and movies. Don't you think somebody there is smart enough to know this is not a word?

I'm trying to hone in on your point, but you seem to be trying to just tow the line. Maybe I've had too many expressos or I'm overly emotional from looking through my momentos, but after pouring over your post I've decided to give you some leadway. Maybe I should just take a different tact.

I wouldn't call them best. I'd call them most aggravating. Or hilarious, depending on my mood.
1. Seems this person's favorite disparaging word is pathetic, but pronounced "prophetic."
2. "trinkle" down instead of trickle down.
