Disagree, man. I am the type of person worried about unintended consequences as you never know when someone is going to go apeshite or do way worse to you in return.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I never really considered April Fool's Day to be about physical pranks... more like just fricking with people's heads and making shite up. Like I'm going to tell my girlfriend I want to break up and/or cheated on her and watch her emotional breakdown for my personal amusement. Then I'll say April Fools, she'll laugh and give me a blowie or something.
