i have a mac. and I'm looking for the best software to make intro animations for videos. I'm a novice so I'm looking for something pretty easy to use. i was thinking of getting cheetah3d. is that what I'm looking for? want to make 3d type words and logos that have special effects and sounds to make small clips.

Adobe After Effects brah. Easily top 2-3 programs around for exactly what you are needing it for.

Good luck.

^ what he said. Just be warned that the learning curve is quite steep. Especially when you get into the realm of animated 3D. If you are familiar with Photoshop it will help greatly, as you will find yourself using them in conjunction pretty often, for that matter, Illustrator as well. For some good tutorials check out this site Video Co-pilot

I've never used it personally, but after a quick glance-over that just looks like a pure 3D modeling program. It won't really have anything in the way of effects, sound, etc. If you are looking to make video clips and what not you really cant beat After Effects. It really is what you are looking for. For 3D check out Blender. Its a powerful 3D program, and its completely free.

Agree with the others After Effects is the way to go it has tons of plugins, and Video Copilot has plenty of
tutorials for what you want to do.
