Need a new phone..iPhone 6 or Galaxy S6

First of all, I am not a fanboy of either Apple or Droid, so I am open to whatever is the best phone. So, with that out of the way 
, my current phone's (S4) screen got cracked today along with having it get inserted into a jar of mayonnaise by my 14 month old son. 
So, I need a new phone.
I have been happy for a long time with the S4 and have read that the S6 is supposed to be one of best phones to come up this year and is light years better than the S5. I am also considering both iPhone 6's. I have the new iPad and am adding a Mac Mini that will be connected directly to my McIntosh C2500 tube preamp, so I do have a little bit of their ecosystem already.
I would say 75% of my time with the phone will be used on work emails and texts, and the rest on entertainment and apps.
What's the board's thoughts on which phone they like best? I am open to other phone suggestions of course.

It really comes down to what OS you prefer and how much you like to fiddle with your phones.

Sounds like you just need an apple but if you are considering a samsung check out the Note 4.

Grab the better phone, so anything but the 6 at this point.

The iPhone 6 is old technology already and you would be behind from the start.
Go with the s6 and don't look back. Better advanced in nearly every way.
The screen alone is worth the purchase and will blow the iPhone screen away in most of the comparisons.
The s6 is a huge step up from either and if you already have an s4 its a no brainer

the s5 allows you to upgrade the battery and storage card
the s6 does not

I'll never own another Samsung phone. If you don't want an iPhone, find something besides Samsung.

I had the S3, my oldest daughter has the S5. Or had, she paid cash for an iPhone 5S and gave the S5 away. My S3 was a POS.

The apple fanboys are out and about today it seems.
Check out the Galaxy S6 active before you buy.
Thats what I am waiting for. 3500ma battery is all you need to know.
