Well, settling up with his old lady was fortunate, particularly as to timing...if she had not shown up when she did, Eleanor's squad would have gutted him. While it's true that he's underestimated and very smart, fortune has been very kind to him in allowing him to survive. Remember also that a lucky sword slash was necessary to defeat the opposing pirate captain, and the dying man still almost killed Rackham before his last breath.

okay, but if there were more then 20 spainish soilders, i dont think rackham crew couldve taken them... he had a measly crew

After several episodes this season, I said to myself "that was the best episode of the show so far." Tonight was no exception. Great finale. You could tell how much of the budget they saved for this episode. Best looking one of the series.
For the first few episodes I thought this show would be a guilty pleasure, but it's a legitimately good show, and I'm bummed the season ended.
Eta...no matter how much I like it, I'll never get over that Vane and Flint have to growl everything.
