I know who Dale Jr and Jeff Gordon are without ever having watched a NASCAR race in my life

I know who Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, etc are without ever watching golf

and Messi is 10x more famous than all of those guys

I'm not a "soccer guy." I watch the sport. Just as I watch the NFL, NBA, NCAA football/basketball, MLB, etc. If you don't know who Leo Messi is, then you should probably get out more.

he's like 5'7". He's a small guy, which makes some of the things he does even more impressive to me, imo.

Most players with his style of play have been small guys. It actually helps with the low center of gravity.
