Best of luck to Jarell. Really liked him. Wish he could have stayed but I can't fault him for wanting to go pro. He should have a nice career in the NBA.

this was the only downside of watching him turn it on down the stretch. Would have been nice to put him with next year's line up but oh well.

Yea no doubt..really hit his stride around the UF game. He struggled shooting early in the year but got it under control.

really guy? thats the harsh truth. I like Martin and wish him the best but people have become delusional to the truth about his glaring weaknesses ever since he went between his legs against UF.

he also played hot potato with the basketball when he touched it with 22 seconds on the clock against nc state

go back and watch the film. there is a killer instinct that is lacking.

He averaged 17/9 for the season.

those are stats. how bout you watch a game and use your eyes instead of a box score

Christ, this guy serious? NBA teams will be drooling over a 6'10" player with his skill set.

I really wonder how some of these people even know how to post on the internet

He has a ton of potential at his size, but he is still very raw. He will get drafted on that potential with the understanding of whoever drafts him that there is a lot of work still to do in order for him to become a significant contributor at the NBA level.

He could have definitely improved had he come back to LSU. He only just started to scratch the surface of his potential in the final month of the season. That said, this isn't a bad decision. He has a good chance of being taken somewhere late in the first round and he was about to be overshadowed by a better player with a similar skill set. He seems like a good kid who represented LSU well in his time here. Hopefully he has a great NBA career ahead of him.

If he ends up being drafted in the first round, it will go down as a good decision for him. I personally expect that to happen.

The guy's best days are ahead of him. I'll be rooting for him.

Kobe said it best. Wanna be the best? Get coached by the best and play with the best. He will improve more in an NBA system than he would being at LSU another year.

Yea this is dumb

Not everyone has Jordan/Kobe type competitiveness. A lot don't show it.

exactly. he will be able to devote 100% of his time to basketball and be coached by and play with professionals. very few college players actually learn how to play basketball while in college. the guys getting drafted, by and large, are guys who excelled on talent and then really developed once they got in the league.

I think there is a legitimate question of where he will be drafted as compared to next year...and the risks and financial impact of that delta.

I personally think he'll be drafted high enough to justify this decision...but pointing out that he'll improve more in the NBA next year ignores that issue.

ETA: It's strange that this is only a 3 page thread...
