Looking for the cheapest 48-50" TV possible to hang outside. Probably end up getting a Westinghouse or an insignia bc I will only watch it every so often for sports, etc. how much should I pay for 120 hz? Is it that important?

Anyone seeing any good deals out there? TIA

You probably won't notice the difference.

Yeah...it is extremely easy to tell the difference...for sports or non-sports. At the same time, I wouldn't say it is necessary with an outdoor TV. 120 Hz Tvs are cheap these days though, as it is pretty much the standard.

I can definitely tell, but when I'm at a friends house or bar watching a game 95% of the time I don't pay attention to it enough to make the determination.

I don't think they had it in stock when I got it either. I went to the store and they ordered it for me and had it sent to the store and I went to pick it up.

I guarantee most people that claim they can tell actually can't. From 20-30' away, the grill is smoking away, sunshine beating down on everything, music is going and someone can tell the hz on a 50" screen? Yeah right.

The outdoor space that you describe sounds much less than ideal but I see what you're saying. My outside TV is a 50something inch with seating fairly close. It is obvious to me. My outdoor space never gets direct sunlight. I'll see if I can find a picture (will probably be a beer pic). When I'm at the other end of the outdoor space, I agree, it would be impossible to tell the difference.

In my office I have a 36inch that is a 60hz and it is obvious to me when watching sports from 10ft away.

eta: here's a pic of the bar in front of the tv
