SFP's Multi-Weekend Multi-Movie Netflix Extravaganza

this is my haul the past 2 weekends (in reverse order of viewing, so last movie is first)
The Dark Valley (2014)
if you ever wanted to know what a western would be like set in the austrian alps, this movie is the solution to your problems. really dark revenge story with amazing scenery. it's just dripping with homages to our western cinema and if it were set in the rockies and made in english, it would fit right in. very dark and gritty, and you feel the scenery. you will feel cold when you watch this movie
Headhunters (2011)
really slick scandinavian noir movie about a corporate headhunder who steals works of art and ends up in a major pickle. the main actor looks like the norwegian steve busciemi, and jamie lannister is all up in this bitch not speaking english (which is weird as hell to watch). i've been looking for good crime movies in the same spirit as layer cake, and this one is close. i've had this in queue on netflix for literally years and i should have watched it years ago, but i'm glad i got to experience it for the first time just now, b/c i'm in a major movie mode.
Fallen Angels (1995)
visually stunning movie set in hong kong, made during the john woo bullet operas. this is kind of a tarantion-inspired view of that style of movie. 2 somewhat inter-related stories web in and out (with admittedly only brief contact). the first 10 minutes will make you want to sex the main female pro/antagonist (the business partner of the hitman, who is in my avatar). more style than substance, and is a great movie for when you're under the influence of substances.
Frank (2014)
entering the quirky dramedy zone. this is a movie about a random guy who joins an eclectic band whose lead singer and leader wears a giant cartoon head. it has some very interesting music and is pretty light-hearted in tone but lots of heart in its message. it's one of those indie music indie movies, but it's done really well. if you ever want a quirky movie that's off the beaten path, i highly suggest you check this out. if you want to watch an interesting movie, it's worth the 90-ish minute investment.
The Overnighters (2014)
another great documentary, this one about a preacher in north dakota who tries to help some of the new workers that are overpopulating the area for the shale boom. you can have a very deep internal discussion about what being christian is all about as you watch this movie. it has the second biggest twist ending of a doc that i've ever seen (#1 is cleanflix. i've never seen dear zachary, mind you). a for sure watch, but it just isn't in the elite doc category in my mind.
Sightseers (2012)
super black hole-dark comedy from the man who brought us the kill list. it's about a sheltered, anti-social woman in her 30s who goes on holiday with her first ever serious boyfriend. i won't spoil anything but shite gets real with a very twisted love story, that has some regular relationship conflict viewed through a lens of insanity. if you want to watch a dark comedy, this is your jam.
Dealing with Idiots (2013)
jeff from curb your enthusiasm tries to do his best larry david impersonation by examining parents of a los angeles youth baseball team. this is mostly a bunch of individual scenes where good comic talent tries to improv. bob odenkirk is the most notable guy but jb smoove had some good moments. i couldn't finish this movie
Knights of Badassdom (2013)
this is about a group of LARPers who accidentally summon a real demon, who then wrecks havoc at one of their big festival things. decent premise but just an example of poor execution. for being a cheapo, has some big names (including peter dinklage). i do no recommend unless you're a massochist
Knuckle (2011)
Thread on this movie here. one of the best docs i've ever seen. entertaining and interesting.

This particularly interests me, good post.
Edit: I already saw Frank, and I liked it. Especially the song at the end.

Nah, he just lives in Lake Charles. It's the most boring town in existence.

i will one day. i just can't ever find the interest. i can always find a movie (esp a doc) i have a much bigger desire to watch
i mean i do that shite in real life. you have to remember that.

I get that, but it's worth it. Hell, it might be even more worth it since you're intimate with the substance material.
It almost sucks that you know there's a "twist" in it (as referenced above). I wish you could go into it blind. But as a lawyer, I imagine it will be pretty interesting to you.
ETA: I know you, and I think you'd actually like it.
