Dish troubles with the ESPN channels? And another issue.

Over the last couple weeks, regardless of weather conditions, all 4 of my ESPN channels through Dish revert to standard definition instead of HD. None of my other channels experience this problem.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Also, my Hopper was putting a perpetual cursor image on my television until I reset it. I've had the Hopper for less than 2 years. Do these things just have a short lifespan?

I haven't had any issues. I've had the Hopper for about 18 months.

We seem to have trouble watching the Walking Dead too.
