I was at the Marquette - Indiana game, 15 years old. Awesome experience. I still have the ticket stub somewhere.

I was there. For Indiana, I remember Bobby Knight with a full head of black hair, Kent Benson, and Scott May. I remember that Alabama team, as well. That was a great Alabama team -- had Leon Douglas at center, T.R. Dunn at guard and a freshman forward named Reggie King, if I recall correctly. That Bama team was good enough to make Final Four run in a different regional.

I was there. Al McGuire showed up in a all pink leisure suit for Marquette's first game with Central Michigan, which they barely beat.
Alabama could have beaten Indiana. Very close game, which Bama led fairly late. Knight said later Bama was the second best team in the tournament.
Indiana was just a little bit better than Marquette in the final. Marquette was damn good with Earl Tatum, Butch Lee, Bo Ellis, etc. (they would win the tournament a year later) McGuire hurt his team against Indiana by getting a technical. I thought he got two, but he did not get thrown out. Maybe you had to get three to get thrown out.

I was at the Indiana-Marquette game. I was given two tickets and had trouble finding someone else to go. Times have changed. Great game by the way.

I was in Faps, now Freds, and most of the Indiana team came into the bar. Don't remember if this was before or after the games.

Yes. 'Bama had mighty Indiana on the ropes, scoring in the paint time after time. Really kind of blew the game as I recall, much like the LSU/NCSU game. Marquette was very good also and wound up winning the NC the following year.

I had one ticket but was there both days. bama-IU game was one of the best CBB games I have ever seen. The Assembly Center was filled with red-clad IU fans.

Was at Indiana-Marquette only. 1 v 2 national rank. I don't think they seeded them back then. It was more regional then. My friend called me that morning looking for someone to go and I said okay. Sat behind press. I was 13. His older sister drove us. I can't remember why his parents couldn't make it but I have always been thAnkful . I have never had better seats to a major event.

There for all 3 games. My Dad's good friend , the late Donald Ray Kennard was able to get my Dad and I 2 tickets near the top but what an atmosphere. Great Indiana team of Kent Benson, Scott May , Quinn Buckner, Thomas Abernathy and Bobby Wilkerson and like you said I remember Leon Douglas and T. R. Dunn for Bama but unfortunately cant remember the other 3 starters for Bama. Then the great matchup with Marquette and Al Maguire on Saturday. Still remember Al kicking the LSU Tiger sign along the court to get a T and get his team fired up. 3 fantastic games.
