I have eaten their several times in the past few years and liked the food.
I can't really put my finger on it, but there is something with the atmosphere that creeps me out. I really don't know what it is but eating there is weird.
I hope they get through this okay.

I agree. They charge a lot of money for some of those "fusion" entrees. I liked the Sherwood Forest location way back in the day. Felt more laid back and not quite as pretensious as the Acadian location.

Same here. Whether you like the food or not, it is always sad to see a locally owned business not make it. The owner works his butt off.

The best way to help them out is to go eat there. If you're weirded out by the atmosphere, get your food to go.

Last time I checked, TD hated local businesses or some shite like that

I can tell you exactly what it is... it is the carpet on the floor!!! I hate restaurants that have carpet!

According to the filing, the shite bags weren't depositing employee payroll taxes and/or not paying their state sales & use taxes -- i.e. pretty pathetic for a business ..

Is it because the owner has the ghey?

I know absolutely nothing about this restaurant or its overall financial situation. But I'm willing to bet they eventually are converted to a Chapter 7 and liquidate. Just based on probabilities alone.

What's the advantage of that?
Not talking about advantage. I'm referring to the rate of Chapter 11 success stories generally and restaurant reorganizations specifically.

Its because the place looks like its from 1986. The decor is horrible but the food is great.

Once a Denny's always a Denny's.

It was Sambos before Denny's.

Well I only read the attached article, not the filing as apparently Rag has read but discharging tax debt is a slippery slope in bankruptcy filings. It mentions unsecured which means there are no liens filed as of yet so his property isn't attached. It is not clear how much of the tax debt is income or payroll but payroll cannot be discharged. He is probably better off trying to work it down by staying open unless he could liquidate with enough money to pay the debt.

Let's hold off on the well wishes for his attempts at legally ducking out on his taxes. This guy has made millions in revenue and apparently isn't paying any of his taxes. As a small business owner who sweats out my taxes every year, it pisses me off that I pay mine and he isn't paying his.
