Dale would have made them harder in practice/season and they would not have had the habit of fade. How many games were lost when we had them won in the first half.? Sorry, that's Coaching.

He is here now. Dale and JJ are the exact same coach. Lots of good with a little bad.

JJ is no where close to Dale- that was everyone's hope but it just is not so

that is what's so comical for these idiots like the Mick...he literally has no clue what he is talking about....just talking out of his arse.

I'd give anything to have a run like Dale Brown had....he was feared in the NCAA trny. He didn't always go far, but he was almost always a tough out and had several deep runs. I'd like to have one deep run now ant then...it's been what, almost 10 years? We probably would have had one in 2009...but got screwed over with the seeding. I can only hope and pray that JJ can repeat what Daddy Dale did.

Team needs to mature a little more. Last night should be a good character building moment. Second, need more quality depth on the bench. That appears to be on its way. Program is still headed in a positive direction.

Dale was a frustrating Coach? what does that mean? As was mentioned earlier, he was nationally feared. He recruited well and his teams played to the last whistle. Did I miss something?

Career LSU win %
Brown .601
Jones .622

He had a strong 3 year run 79-81, then Couple good years after that.

He'd build the player's psyches back up after a crushing loss, and then he'd pull a few guys aside to establish some roles: Martin- you have to demand the ball. They can't stop you down low. Post up more. And find your money shot. Hornsby- calm down, step up. You're bigger than their guards, so if the jumper isn't dropping, force contact on drives. Your team needs your offense. TQ- relax, let the game flow through you. Find your scorers and feed them. Oh, and take a walk before the FTs, clear your head and gather yourself. Mickey- you played great and with heart. Hang back late and let Martin go into the low post if you're not feeling it. Whole team- this hurts, doesn't it? You can erase that hurt next year, and become part of LSU lore. Or, you can go your separate ways now, wonder what might have been, and a few of you could make D league money.

Nice pep talk coach!

He would call one of his buddies that knows basketball, like an assistant with the Blazers, and ask them to come help him.

Dale probably would have probably done this at some point during the long drought in the 2nd half:

Classic -Dale tells it like it is

I lived through the Dale Brown era. Great motivator, no question! He had his moments in tourney-- but most fans complained that he did not know his Xs and Os-- When he was mic' up during time outs-- it was sometimes very painful to hear the lack of coaching. If JJ keeps improving teams every year, who can complain?-- ok-- tiger fans will always complain!

Brown could blow some big leads and could be frustrating at times, but he took over a program that had no tournament appearances in 18 years prior to his arrival and only four winning seasons in that time. LSU didn't even make a tournament with Pistol Pete. Brown ended up taking LSU to 13 NCAA tournaments (including 10 in a row).

Jones is doing a good job with the Ws, but LSU made it to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament just four seasons prior to his arrival at LSU. Slightly different situations...

Hire the coach of the best high school basketball player available and delegate coaching responsibilities.
