I've always been perplexed by the obsession that this fraternity had with the antebellum south? I didn't know any KAs in college, and hardly know many today, but it always seemed like a semi-secretive but very proudful event. I'm curious to here yalls thoughts on it.

It's a week long party where they frick each other in the bunghole in white collard shirts and stupid confederate cowboy hats, all while having a dip in and drinking a bud heavy, because this is america after all and nothing screams america more than a bud.

Not much to understand about it I don't think. They just have a formal party where the dress code is "old south". Guys wear old civil war era formal suits and girls wear the big puffy dresses.

I wasn't a KA, so I don't know what else goes on with it. Had a couple friends who are KA and that's what I've always understood it as.

ETA: since this is a thread by StrongSafety I'm assuming you're thinking it's racist in some way.

Basically it's reliving the good old days before all the degenerate blacks ruined it. Happy to supply the answer you were looking for

I heard it begins with the sacrifice of a pledge to the spirit of Robert E. Lee, and then Lee descends from the heavens to manifest the body of the pledge, and he then sodomizes the brothers of the fraternity for the remainder of the evening, all with their consent and pure admiration.

I'll bite - it is a celebration of our fraternities heritage. A quick google search or visit to the organization website will show why that is important to us. It's a great chance to throw a weeklong party.... As far as it being secretive, sorry you didn't get a bid bud, you expect to be invited or something? My chapter did all our fun right out in the open, I think the whole town knew what we were up to that week.

They play dress up and pretend to be old southern aristocrats. It's pretty silly and harmless. I'm guessing you have a racial angle here but the Greeks owned slaves too. Are toga parties a problem?
