Interesting topic on Morning Men on Mad Dog Sports Radio this morning.

I'm paraphrasing a bit, but would you rather $1,000 or a national championship in the sport of your choice? Include pro sports if you'd like.

If you'd rather the money, at what amount would you take your team? If you'd rather the championship, at what amount would you take the money?

I've seen my school win multiple titles in both, so...SHOW ME THE MONEY!

Give me the team winning the championship and I'll bet on it. Win/win.

Since Wisconsin struggles to get over the hump, give me a national championship and I'll sacrifice the extra $1,000 in my pocket.

Right now? $1000.

Other times in life I'd take the other.

Yeah obviously this depends on your financial situation a bit, but you certainly change the conversation if you've got to come out of pocket and pay for the win.

If my accounts stay flat and LSU wins the CFB playoff, I'm fine.

If I have to pay $1,000 to guarantee LSU wins the playoff, eghhhh...

$1000 isn't enough. It would have to be about $10000 for me

Consider i'd pay $1000 for a ticket to the SB to watch the Saints have a chance of winning it, i'd take another Saints SB

$1000 isn't much these days. Take the hardware.

OMG this isn't even remotely a question for me, I'd take the national title. Without hesitation.

This is a really odd question. If I take whatever sum of money, it just means my team doesn't win the title that year? Big deal, they haven't won it in decades so that seems a pretty good deal to me.

I would take Saints/LSU Football/LSU Baseball/Texas Rangers/LSU basketball titles over $1,000 any day of the week.

Yet you said the NC in the first half of your post.

Pretty straight forward question IMO - would you rather Georgia win the CFB NC next year guaranteed, or $X and a guarantee that Georgia won't win the NC next year?

Yeah I would do this for $10,000. Maybe $5,000. I don't think $1,000 would enough to suffice for me.

Well for me the question is 500 or your team winning the national championship because I put $1 on LSU at the beginning of the season at 500/1... Y'all should have put $2 on them so you wouldn't be faced with this dreadful hypothetical decision.
