Cristiano Ronaldo could be an addition to Major League Soccer from 2018, according to reports in 'Sports Illustrated'. The 30 year player from Madeira is contemplating a move to one of the States’ bigger cities, with Los Angeles, Miami or New York being considered as options.
New York currently has two MLS teams New York Red Bulls and New York City FC, as well as New York Cosmos who play in the NASL. NYCFC are co-owned by Manchester City along with US baseball giants New York Yankees and are make their MLS debut this season. From 2018, Los Angeles will have two MLS teams with LA Galaxy (where Steve Gerrard will play next) alongside a new franchise which is expected to replace Chivas USA and will include the likes of Magic Johnson and Vincent Tan in its owner consortium.
There is another scenario which could see Cristiano team up with David Beckham at Miami. Beckham holds the rights for a soccer franchise in the South Eastern city in Florida and having the Portuguese striker as his start attraction would provide Beckham with an enormous boost in launching his club.
Soccer in the United States is steadily becoming an attractive proposition for the later stages of many leading European footballers. David Beckham was a success at LA Galaxy, Thierry Henry at NY Red Bull and currently David Villa at New York City or Kaká at Orlando City SC being some recent examples of players who have made successes following Stateside moves.

Dude is such a stud. That cross in the World Cup was a beautiful buzzkill.

I would kill for Atlanta. We could stop sucking his dick on the Internet and do it in person.
