I don't understand why anyone would hate either one unless you just hate teams that win. Still, 4 championships in 30 years isn't an inordinate amount. Why not hate UCONN?
What I got out of last night was a lot of petty jealousy from people who aren't that good at anything or whose teams aren't as good.
I am no Duke fan (LSU), but I don't get hating them. Do they also hate Kentucky and Kansas and UNC?
Now, I get hating Alabama football. That is a WHOLE different story.

I don't remember hating that team, Laetner was a great player. Hurley was a dynamic point guard back then and you add players like Grant Hill and all those other guys. it was the whole team.
The hate was for Duke.
It's ESPN though! What more would you expect.
My guess is with the Dale and Shaq piece they will probably have a mention about the Lester Earl scandal, it's what they do.

The same people that question why someone would be a Duke fan also hate Duke. Doesn't really make sense to me.
